Job Summary
The Maintenance Planner will oversee non-emergency craft and contracted services activities within the maintenance department, ensuring efficient maintenance execution and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will work closely with production scheduling, production operations, quality control, and procurement/stores departments to optimize maintenance productivity and minimize production disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- The Maintenance Planner will serve as a technical professional in PM Planning and Scheduling, resolving scheduling/planning conflicts with stakeholders, including production, FD, and R&D.
- They will be responsible for negotiating time to execute corrective notifications and prioritizing tasks.
- The Planner will ensure materials required for PM are available and prepared prior to planning activities, working with Central Stores personnel to achieve this goal.
- They will review the proposed plan with supervisors each week, assigning work to trades and communicating with affected groups and other Planners to ensure alignment and minimal downtime.
- The Planner will maintain documented visibility of all aspects of the PM planning system, including performance metrics, backlog, completion rates, excursions, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement.
- They will participate in the development of Total Life-cycle Management for all assets, recommending replacement/retirement based on data from Reliability, Investigations, and Subject Matter Experts.
- The Planner will develop working relationships with peers in Production Planning, Supply Chain, and New Product Launch to maintain a broad perspective on equipment Reliability.
- As a Professional, the Planner will be responsible for ensuring their own Professional development in cooperation with Management.
- They will participate in new Capital Engineering efforts to ensure seamless integration into the PM system.
- The Planner will work closely with the SAP PM Master Data Maintainer to update SAP master data and respond to queries from internal clients regarding PM Planning.
- They will recommend improvements to technology to enhance compliance and effectiveness, including cost savings.
- The Planner will act as a back-up to the Project Leader, Reliability.
- They will work as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
- The Planner will perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Pride, Accountability, Integrity, and Diligence, demonstrating strong and visible support of our values.
- They will perform all work in accordance with established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.
Requirements
- College Diploma in an Engineering Discipline, Tradesperson, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong organizational and communications skills are essential.
- Previous experience with SAP software PM Module is essential.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
