About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Plant Power Engineer to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, air compressors, diesel engines, generators, electric motors, pumps, turbines, and related equipment.

The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Chief Power Engineer and Maintenance Manager and in accordance with the Provincial Licensing Standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration compressors, air compressors, diesel engines, generators, electric motors, pumps, turbines, and related equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on equipment as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the charge engineer to ensure smooth plant operation.
  • Provide assistance to the charge engineer as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience as an Engineer in charge of a shift in a first-class plant or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with instrumentation and operating experience (including minor troubleshooting) with electrical and electronic industrial controls required.
  • Valid and current Manitoba Second Class Power Engineer Certificate.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a license as an Instrument Technician, Millwright, Pipefitter, or Electrician.
Working Conditions
  • Must take extreme care in performance of tasks as in close contact with exposed high temperature piping, rotating equipment, and high voltages.
  • Work area is subject to high temperature, humidity, and noise.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
