Senior Systems Analyst

The IM/IT Sr. Systems Analyst (SA) / Business Analyst (BA) plays a pivotal role in evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. This position collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy.
The IM/IT Sr. SA/BA will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications aligned with NSH's and its clients' strategic mission, vision, and goals. Key responsibilities include evaluating requests for change, data retrieval and optimization opportunities, troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of application errors and other system issues, developing materials and communicating system changes to end users, and building and maintaining all system configuration items in line with best practice and appropriate stakeholder approvals.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related discipline. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related field is required, with 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support. Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology are assets. Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management are also considered assets.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories, and concepts within healthcare, as well as strong knowledge of healthcare and technology industry best practice relating to software applications. They will be able to solve a range of complex problems, identify innovative solutions, and use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service. Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis is also required.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $37.61 - $47.01, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
