Senior Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our IM/IT department, you will be responsible for evaluating, designing, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting information management and technology solutions, projects, and services across our organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support, with experience in C#,.NET Core, SQL, and related web technologies. You will also have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
As a Senior Systems Analyst, you will work closely with clinical and business stakeholders to determine appropriate IT solutions, collaborate with other team members, vendors, and clinical stakeholders, and participate in clinical IM/IT projects. You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating existing custom software solutions, gathering and documenting business requirements, and ensuring that IT systems and processes are implemented and maintained to support the effective and safe delivery of patient information to care providers.
We offer a competitive salary range of $36.33 - $45.42 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.

About You- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Technology, Business Analysis, or Health Related field.
- 2+ years' experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis, or systems support.
- Experience with SQL and relational database design concepts.
- Experience with programming languages and tools, such as C#,.NET Core, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and related web application development tools and associated system development lifecycle models.
- Significant experience with web service/API design and development.
- Experience using source code version control and knowledge of associated best practices.
- Experience planning and performing software testing: functional, unit, integration, system, user acceptance, load, and stress testing.
- Experience with application cloud platforms such as OpenShift.
- Conceptual knowledge of HL7, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) would be considered an asset.
- Analytical thinking, creative problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare and technology industry best practice relating to software applications.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities and to manage time effectively.
- Ability to relay or explain issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff.
- Ability to troubleshoot and document issues and problems and implement resolution using clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills.
- Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to document and solve issues.
- Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles.
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP), and/or organizational change management an asset.
- Organizational Skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
