About the Role

This Full-Time Senior Accountant position will be based in Markham, ON, and involve leading Review and/or Compilation Engagements while meeting the Firm's high-quality standards. As a senior member of our team, you will provide technical expertise to less experienced team members who require support on client files or specific questions from clients.

To succeed in this role, you must have a university degree in accounting or equivalent and be enrolled in or near completion of your CPA certification. You should possess comprehensive knowledge to work through Review and Compilation Engagements and tax files independently in a public accounting firm setting.

The ideal candidate will have advanced-level knowledge of corporate and personal returns, as well as expert comprehension of accounting and tax rules and treatment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, with skills in creating formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analytics, etc., is essential. Additionally, experience with CaseWare, Taxprep, Quickbooks, QBO, and other bookkeeping software is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Review and/or Compilation Engagements while meeting the Firm's quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise to team members who need support on client files or specific questions from clients.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and more efficient tax treatments for corporate and trust tax returns.
  • Complete compliance review of prepared corporate and personal tax returns, including preparation of income tax slips and filings.
  • Implement tax engagements while meeting the Firm's quality standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Enrolled in or near completion of CPA certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Review and Compilation Engagements and tax files.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of corporate and personal returns.
  • Expert comprehension of accounting and tax rules and treatment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Experience with CaseWare, Taxprep, Quickbooks, QBO, and other bookkeeping software.
What We Offer

NVS Professional Corporation offers a competitive salary of approximately $95,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Other benefits include:
