Job Description: Product Marketing StrategistThis role serves as the bridge between product strategy and sales and marketing tactics. You will be responsible for building go-to-market strategies and executing product launches that drive success. Your expertise should include understanding competitors' strengths and weaknesses, buyers' preferences, and their decision-making processes.
You will back up strategic insights with market evidence and develop positioning and messaging that resonates with our target audience, empowering marketing, partner, and sales channels to succeed. Collaboration with the demand generation and content team is crucial to develop innovative programs that drive continued demand.
A key responsibility is presenting our product's value proposition clearly articulating how we solve buyers' problems, a skill essential to success. Regular collaboration with product managers, partners, and sales channels requires strong diplomatic skills.
Your primary duties:
- Conduct Market Intelligence - be an expert on our buyers, including who they are, how they buy, and their key buying criteria.
- Understand the competitive landscape - be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
- Collaborate with product management and marketing communications to develop product positioning, messaging, and content that resonates with our target buyer personas.
- Document our buyer's journey, including where they get information, and the who, what, when, and why behind their decisions.
- Develop marketing programs for the products you support in conjunction with our marketing team.
- Assess the effectiveness of marketing programs supporting your products on an ongoing basis.
- Plan the launches of net-new products, features, and releases of existing products.
- Act as the primary thought leader externally for the products you support.
- Support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users.
With at least 5 years of experience in product marketing in a B2B SaaS environment, you will be well-positioned for this role. Additionally, you possess:
- Experience working with product teams to define product strategy.
- A strong technical background and understanding.
- Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Customer-centric with experience speaking directly with customers.
- Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environment.
- The ability to stay highly organized while managing multiple projects and priorities.
We offer a highly competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits that make us stand out as an employer of choice. These include:
