About the OpportunityThe Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill a tenure stream position in the area of health equity. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to contribute to cutting-edge research, teaching, and community engagement initiatives that promote health equity and address pressing social determinants of health.
As an Associate Professor, you will be expected to develop and maintain an innovative and externally funded research program that emphasizes equity, community building, and partnerships within and outside the University. Your work should have a significant impact on reducing health inequities and improving health outcomes for marginalized populations.
You will also teach introductory and upper-level courses related to health equity, qualitative and mixed-methods, and have opportunities to contribute to graduate educational programs and other research initiatives in the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (IHPME) and Public Health Sciences (PHS).
About the Role- Develop and maintain a competitive and externally funded research program with a focus on health equity.
- Teach and mentor students in health equity, qualitative and mixed-methods, and other relevant areas.
- Contribute to graduate educational programs and other research initiatives in IHPME and PHS.
- Engage in community-driven research and collaboration with communities, organizations, and institutions to address health inequities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated expertise in qualitative and/or mixed methods, as well as a strong record of community-driven research excellence and ethical engagement and collaboration with communities, organizations, and institutions.
