Tenure-Stream Professor of Environmental Chemistry

The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in environmental chemistry and health.
This appointment will be in the Department of Physical and Environmental Science with full membership in the tri-campus Graduate Departments of Physical and Environmental Sciences and/or Chemistry. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Chemistry program in Department of Physical and Environmental Science and will have opportunities to build new graduate courses.
We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests will expand and complement our existing departmental strengths. The ideal candidate should have expertise in environmental chemistry and in bioanalytical chemistry and/or biological chemistry, particularly in studying the interactions between chemical contaminants and cells, biomolecules (such as proteins) and/or target organisms using omics approaches, such as exposomics related to health.
A PhD degree in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, is required. A demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching is essential. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence through publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, a teaching dossier (with required materials), and strong letters of reference. We also value diversity and believe that a diverse community fosters a culture of belonging, which is vital to our academic mission.
Estimated annual salary: $120,000 - $150,000 CAD
