Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Code Compliance Specialist to join our team at the City of Toronto. As a key member of our building inspection team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough building inspections to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation.
  • Review construction drawings and permit documents to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Investigate complaints and concerns related to building code compliance.
  • Provide education and guidance to builders, architects, and engineers on building code requirements.
  • Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as architecture, engineering, or building science.
  • Considerable experience in building inspection and code enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other applicable legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
