Job Title: NSWOC Nurse (Wound Care Nurse)

Location: Mississauga, Halton, GTA, Central, Dufferin

Job Type: Part Time / Casual

Closing the Gap Healthcare is dedicated to providing Canadians with the highest level of care across a wide range of home and community settings.

We are seeking a highly skilled NSWOC Nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional care to our clients. Our ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where they will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and develop their skills in wound care management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with wound, ostomy and continence care, enabling them to remain within their home and community setting
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to individuals with actual and potential skin integrity issues related to wound management, ostomy care, and continence
  • Assess, plan, collaborate with the client, family and other members of the healthcare team to establish and/or update the care plan and implement and evaluate client care
  • Assess clients for appropriateness of virtual consults

Requirements:

  • Certificate for successful completion of a wound, ostomy, and continence program (NSWOC) from a recognized educational institution
  • Previous work experience in the community or acute care setting with a focus on wound care is preferred
  • Highly organized and excel at managing your schedule
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Currently certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the CNO
  • Currently certified with Standard First Aid & CPR/ AED (Level C)
  • Can possess current Mask Fit test
