Main Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming materials for contamination or defects.
  • Unband and unwrap raw coils.
  • Load coils onto uncoilers.
  • Calculate weight and copy coils.
  • Set up cores on recoilers.
  • Set up and make leader strips.
  • Prepare coils for the next shift, including splitting and flipping as necessary.
  • Check and top up nickel baskets with nickel D crowns.
  • Make and clean roller seals, hydra seals.
  • Empty garbage, cardboard, and metal recycling bins.
  • Prepare aluminum drums for shipment (capping and cleaning).
  • Filter station dismantling, cleaning, and rebuilding of filters.
  • Perform walk-arounds, including taking slugs, stickers, and incoming coil tags.
  • Check and replace the following per coil:
  • Spray Nozzles - Roller Seals
  • Pumps - Barrels
  • Yarn Filters - Billy Rolls
  • Brushes - Evaporator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter data on charts, log sheets, and statistical charts.
  • Record scrap in the scrap log book and fill out the JIT book.
  • Make adjustments to pumps and additions to the solution as necessary.
  • Check the thickness of nickel and percentage of lead on the strip using an X-Ray Florescence device.
  • Check the adhesion of nickel on the strip.
  • Perform titrations to determine etch percentage.
  • Inspect plated material as it comes out for stains, burrs, and scratches.
  • Tape, remove, band, and inspect finished coils.
  • Assist other team members with their duties as necessary.
  • Assist the operator in the Production Floor Office and the forklift driver if they require help.
  • Double-check labels to verify the information is correct.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in coating and manufacturing process applications, and their improvement.
  • Problem-solving, communications, and arithmetic skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of TS16949, ISO14001, and ISO18001 systems.
  • Team player, able to work with changing priorities.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Visual acuity and manual ability to position and load aluminum coil onto uncoiler tables, stands, and skids.
