Job Summary:

We are seeking a Part-time Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Thrive Group Canada. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing services to our clients, including monitoring their health status, providing care and support, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the health status of clients and provide nursing services within a defined scope of practice.
  • Provide care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities and medication management.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients, including monitoring the building for security and safety risks and taking appropriate action in emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to clients.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college, or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset. May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language.
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.

Job Type: Part-Time (Nights, and evening / day / evening rotation) permanent.
