Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the health status of clients and provide nursing services within a defined scope of practice.
  • Ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests by monitoring the building and taking appropriate action in emergency situations.
  • Provide support and assistance to clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college, or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset. May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language.
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position working nights, days, and evenings, with rotations. As a condition of employment, you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated or provide proof of valid exemption satisfactory to the employer prior to your start date.
