Job Summary:

Thrive Group Canada is seeking a Part-time Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring the health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population. You will provide nursing services within a defined scope of practice and ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population.
  • Provide nursing services within a defined scope of practice.
  • Monitor the building to ensure the security and safety of clients, staff, and guests.
  • Take appropriate action in an emergency situation.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college, or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset. May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language.
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.

Job Type: Part-Time (Nights, and evening/day/evening rotation) permanent.
