Geriatric Inpatient Nurse

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Geriatric Inpatient team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient-centered care to our geriatric patients, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to geriatric patients, including assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Think critically and prioritize tasks to manage the demands of a fast-paced geriatric inpatient unit.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in geriatric care, incorporating this knowledge into your practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Geriatric Psychiatry experience.
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
