About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Wonderbrands. As a key member of our compliance and audit team, you will be responsible for ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal audits of our bakeries, distribution centers, and depots to ensure compliance with Wonderbrands' policies and procedures, as well as GFSI-BRCGS and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems, including SOPs and CAPAs, to drive continuous improvement and ensure food safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to improve food safety and quality.
  • Lead and conduct internal audits, including onsite inspections and document reviews, and develop reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain audit templates and scorecards to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage with bakery employees to coach and support them in maintaining food safety and quality standards.
  • Validate HACCP programs and coach and support HACCP and food safety teams to ensure maintenance of HACCP/BRCGS programs.
  • Analyze trends from bakery, DC, and depot complaints, non-conformances, and third-party audits to adjust audit scope and/or schedule.
  • Identify best practices and share within the region and nationally with peers.
  • Lead and complete projects related to the continuous improvement of the food safety and quality program of the company.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, influence, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with leadership and operations colleagues.
  • Excellent project management skills, with an emphasis on closing gaps with leadership teams from beginning to end within given timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a strong ability to be agile and pivot when needed.
  • Excellent oral and written English skills, including French for the Montreal location.
  • Proficient in documentation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Is action-driven, high energy.
  • Able to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends, as required.
  • Travel to bakeries, DCs, and depots as required across the region.
  • Knowledge of GFSI (preferably BRCGS), food safety (HACCP) programs, Preventive Controls, and Quality Systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, microbiology, or a similar discipline with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years QA experience in a food plant with auditing experience, including QMS development.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, data analytics, SAP, Visio, Minitab.
