About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Marble Setter to join our team at AtwoZ Renos Inc. as a permanent full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with precision and accuracy.
  • Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Prepare rough plans and sketches to visualize and plan tile installations.
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base, ensuring a secure and level fit.
  • Align and straighten tiles to achieve a visually appealing and professional finish.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, minimizing waste and ensuring a seamless fit.
  • Instruct apprentices on the proper techniques and best practices for tile installation.
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, ensuring a clean and professional finish.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, maintaining the integrity and appearance of the installation.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs, requiring attention to detail and creativity.
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets, ensuring a sturdy and secure installation.
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Estimate costs and materials, ensuring accurate and efficient project planning.
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces, requiring a strong understanding of materials and techniques.
  • Install tile strips, ensuring a seamless and professional finish.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • The Marble Setter will work in a physically demanding environment, requiring the ability to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
  • The ability to distinguish between colors and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Hand-eye coordination and the ability to work accurately and efficiently are also required.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion.
