Job Title: Supervisor, Early Years and Family Development

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our Early Childhood and Family Development leadership team, you will provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing support to staff and volunteers working with children and families in licensed group childcare programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and support to 2-3 YMCA Child Care Programs, focusing on building a strong team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
  • Coach, develop, and support staff and volunteer teams to achieve excellence in service delivery, with a focus on building a culture of connection and inclusivity.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, licensing officers, community agencies, and other service providers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure the delivery of programs and services that meet Provincial Licensing Legislation and YMCA requirements and standards, with a focus on child growth and development, family relations, and family-centered practices.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff teams to ensure the consistent implementation of the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and best practices.
  • Oversee specific spending accounts and support the Manager with following the program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Manage and meet association commitments and targets related to the YMCA Strong Kids fundraising campaign and other special projects.
  • Be an engaged and integral part of a cohesive management team, working to achieve the mission of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
Requirements:
  • BC Early Childhood Educator certificate - IT and SN preferred.
  • 3 years of leadership experience, with a focus on leading multiple staff teams in satellite locations.
  • Proven experience with stakeholder and partner engagement, with excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience working with children and families in licensed group childcare programs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other applications, with a strong knowledge of emergent curriculum and child growth and development.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions, with effective prioritizing and problem-solving skills.
  • First Aid/CPR-C certificate required.
  • Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and flexible schedule, as required.
