Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and creative Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead activities based on the interests and developmental level of the children in our care.
  • Build meaningful relationships with children and families, ensuring a sense of belonging and connection.
  • Work collaboratively with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families.
  • Deliver high-quality programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, promoting cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Provide active supervision at all times, ensuring the well-being and safety of the children.
  • Communicate effectively with families through our parent communication app, keeping them informed of their child's daily activities and progress.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing, and legal requirements.
Requirements:
  • ECE certification from a recognized program in British Columbia.
  • Special Needs Educator (SNE) or Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) certification is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained within 30 days of start date).
  • Three professional reference checks to be completed.
  • A current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued within six months preceding your start date.
