Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our team as a Learning Enrichment Centre Support Teacher. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small group learning support in the Learning Enrichment Centre (LEC) to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with the LEC Coordinator to develop and implement strategies that align with the LEC vision.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to identify and provide targeted support and accommodations for students in the LEC.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to students' unique learning styles and needs.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust support strategies as needed to ensure they stay on pace with their courses.
  • Help students develop essential study skills and strategies to improve their academic performance.
  • Assess students' fundamental math skills and provide targeted support to help them improve.
  • Support students in developing their executive functioning skills to enhance their overall academic and personal well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent.
  • Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • Intermediate-senior qualifications in mathematics or science would be considered an asset.
  • Strong commitment to professional growth and a willingness to explore new approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Experience working in a faith-based environment would be an asset.
  • Strong alignment with the CIS Ontario mission and values.
