Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our team at the learning centre. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with students, teaching various subjects, and are committed to fostering skill development.
As a Mathematics Educator at Oxford Learning, you will not be required to create lesson plans, as all instructional materials are provided. Comprehensive training in our unique educational approach will be provided to all successful candidates.
Position Requirements:
All educators at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school hours and evenings (4:00pm - 8:00pm), as well as Saturdays (9:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment for the academic year is preferred, with opportunities to continue through the summer. Reliability is essential, and students will appreciate your consistent support.
This position is in-person, and candidates must be able to commute to the learning centre. Please note that this is not a remote role, and no relocation assistance is available. A vulnerable sector screening is required.
We encourage applicants who meet the following qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a relevant discipline
- Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum, capable of teaching concepts from basic counting to advanced calculus
Experience:
- Prior experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate student comprehension
- Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as an Interactive Coach with the following duties:
- Instructing up to three students concurrently at varying levels
- Delivering lessons both online and in-person
- Adhering to the Oxford Learning methodologies
- Documenting post-lesson notes
- Providing daily updates on student progress
- Maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor at all times
