Job Title: Senior IS Project Manager

AltaLink is seeking a highly experienced Senior IS Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex IT projects. As a key member of our Security & Information Services (S&IS) Department, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment of scope, schedule, and budget, and providing strategic leadership to project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple IT projects from initiation to closing, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support to project managers, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify business needs and develop project proposals that meet organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior project managers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on databases, programming, web development, and/or integration.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of proven project management experience, managing complex and cross-functional projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent certification.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, teaching, and coaching.
  • Ability to express complex project concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management best practices (PMI) and Change Management best practices.
  • Strong customer service focus, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, stakeholders, and management.
