Occupational Health and Safety Specialist

About the RoleIn this position, you will have the opportunity to work closely with leadership teams and employees to enhance the company's safety culture. Your expertise will guide the development and implementation of safety programs and initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Responsibilities- Develop Safety Programs
- Work with Joint Health and Safety Committees to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives.
- Safety Subject Matter Expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise on safety-related matters, reviewing and updating safety programs to ensure continued compliance.
- Collaborate with Operations Teams
- Engage with Operations management to understand their needs and provide guidance on safety best practices.
This role requires a bachelor's degree in environmental and occupational health and safety or a related discipline from a recognized accredited program. Four to seven years of recent experience in the environment, occupational health and safety field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience are necessary. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is an asset.

Benefits and OpportunitiesThis role offers a competitive salary of $52,390 - $63,770 per year, based on a 37.5-hour workweek. You will also have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year.
