Senior Safety and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at BC Hydro. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulations in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough on-site and remote risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a safe working environment and provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations and protocols, and implement changes as needed to maintain compliance.
- Develop and implement effective communication plans to ensure that all employees are informed about safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid work environment requiring both in-person and remote work. As a Senior Safety and Compliance Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work from home or our office location, depending on the needs of the business.
The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a retirement savings plan.
