Westwinds Wholesale Cash and Carry is seeking a highly motivated and organized Produce Department Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our produce department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign sales workers to duties and oversee the daily operations of the produce department.
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to provide excellent customer service.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Establish work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak periods.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure freshness and quality of produce.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
