Co-op/Intern, Assurance

About the Role

BDO Canada is seeking a Co-op/Intern, Assurance to join our team in Kenora. As a key member of our Assurance team, you will be responsible for carrying out work projects and assignments, preparing and completing working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards. You will also gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements, build positive working relationships with clients, and effectively communicate with team members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments
  2. Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards
  3. Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements
  4. Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to requests and suggestions
  5. Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis

Requirements

  1. Currently working towards a degree/diploma focused in accounting
  2. Desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
  3. Proven leadership skills and ability to take initiative to seek understanding
  4. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
