Job Description

Job Title: Security Lead Hand

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Lead Hand to join our team at Paladin Security. As a Security Lead Hand, you will be responsible for providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will also be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Tower & Parking Lot Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the tower and parking lot to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Report Writing: Write detailed reports of incidents and events that occur during your shift.
  • Note Taking: Take notes of important information and events during your shift.
  • On the Fly Problem Solving: Respond to unexpected situations and incidents in a quick and efficient manner.
  • High Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors.
  • Lock Ups and Unlocks: Perform lock ups and unlocks of the premises as required.
  • Responding to Assistance Requests: Respond to assistance requests from clients and visitors.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of the general public on the premises.
  • Assist with Directions: Assist visitors with directions within the building.
  • Signing in and out Contractors: Sign in and out contractors as required.
  • Assist with Information Inquiries: Assist visitors with information inquiries.
  • Closing the Desk Down: Close the desk down for the evening and return building equipment to the control center.
  • Crosstraining: Participate in crosstraining on all roles, including patroller, operator, and other positions.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Security Guard License: Hold a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification: Hold a valid First Aid/CPR - Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Provide proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check: Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Security Experience: Have a minimum of 3 years of security experience or 1 year of demonstrated security supervision experience.
  • Customer Service Skills: Demonstrate superior customer service skills and ability to work independently.
  • Education: Hold a minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Physical Abilities: Be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Training: Be able to complete ongoing training as directed by the Site Manager or Client Service Manager.
  • Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behaviour: Hold certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). Alternatively, be willing to complete Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding.
