Job Summary

Morrison Hershfield, now Stantec, is seeking a highly skilled Transit Field Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Horizontal Infrastructure Business Unit, you will play a critical role in delivering outstanding quality and meeting our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect Contractor's work to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Assist with site investigations and project team-initiated changes.
  • Coordinate with the project delivery team and contractor to obtain required permits.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and photos.
  • Monitor work progress and document delays.
  • Field verify and document installed quantities.
  • Inspect temporary silt fencing and erosion control measures.
  • Attend progress and coordination meetings.
  • Coordinate testing and inspections with labs and contractors.
  • Witness field and factory tests and document results.
  • Assist with reviewing pay applications.
  • Minimize impacts to the project team, public, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with testing, startup, and commissioning of new systems.
  • Assist with project close-out and evaluating contractor claims.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in general heavy civil construction.
  • Knowledge of CSI divisions and construction methods.
  • Proficiency with reading and understanding plans and specifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database entry.
  • Prior experience with large capital improvement projects.
  • Meet required provincial safety training.
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in civil engineering.
