Job Title: Shift Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Halifax site. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out proactive maintenance and reactive breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our equipment and processes to provide expert technical support and guidance.
  • Work closely with the Area Engineering Manager to develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on maintenance procedures and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs and automation equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Validated qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
