Sales and Service Representative

MRC Global is a leading provider of products and services to the oil and gas industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Sales and Service Representative.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of our branch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries, develop new business opportunities, and generate quotes using our database.
- Maximize sales revenue through careful analysis and negotiation.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase market share and grow sales.
- Provide product information, delivery specifications, and payment terms to customers.
- Assist outside sales and branch management in processing priority transactions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide value-added recommendations.
- Enter and maintain accurate customer information, purchase orders, and trade discounts.
- Collaborate with internal departments to set up and maintain customer files.
- Ensure quality standards are met and approved.
- Communicate with customers and colleagues to provide technical information and resolve issues.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Monitor and expedite shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries about materials and sales.
Qualifications:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual with a strong background in customer service, sales, and/or warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have:
A high school diploma or equivalent and additional post-secondary training or education.At least two years of experience in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.Demonstrated competence in computer software applications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Valid driver's license and ability to meet MRC Global's vehicle policy.Additional Requirements:
- Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global's guidelines and expectations.
Working Conditions:
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel and overnight stays. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
