Child Welfare Support Specialist

The Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the role of Child Welfare Support Specialist.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children in care or at risk of entering care. Your primary focus will be on recruiting supportive adults and identifying permanent resources committed to the child/youth referred.
We are looking for an individual who can work intensively with children and youth, building a system of supportive adults and promoting their need for safety, well-being, and permanence. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and community members.
Key responsibilities include locating extended family members to ensure that the STC has identified the most appropriate extended family supports in the child/youth's life. You will also promote the need for safety, well-being, and permanence among children and youth, working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve this goal.
Applicants must demonstrate how they meet the eligibility requirements outlined below in their cover letter. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess a strong understanding of child welfare principles and practices, as well as experience working with Indigenous communities.
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $73,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additionally, successful candidates may be eligible for benefits such as medical and dental coverage, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and qualifications. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Please note that Community Postings are open for application by the general public.
