Job Overview

The Family Finder Worker plays a crucial role in supporting children and youth in care or at risk of entering care by actively seeking permanent resources committed to their well-being.

This position focuses on locating extended family members who can provide the necessary support and safety for the child/youth.

About the Role

The incumbent will be responsible for conducting intensive and short-term work aimed at ensuring a system of supportive adults and identifying a permanent resource for the child/youth referred.

The Family Finder Worker is expected to work closely with various stakeholders to achieve the goals of the program, prioritizing the safety, security, and well-being of the child/youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential extended family members
  • Build relationships with key individuals and facilitate communication to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child/youth
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage extended family members in the child/youth's life
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the recruitment process
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of child welfare systems and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong assessment and case planning skills

We offer a competitive salary of $63,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
