Project Planning Manager

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Project Planning Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Contractor on behalf of the Company to ensure that all project activities are planned, scheduled, and executed in alignment with the Company's objectives and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, including tasks, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the company's overall project timeline and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with EPC contractors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and identify the necessary resources for task completion.
- Track project progress, monitor deviations from the schedule, and update project plans to reflect any changes in scope, timeline, or resources.
- Prepare and present regular status reports to company and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate risk management plans to company and EPC contractors.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams, addressing any resource constraints or issues, and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Oversee the EPC contractor's resource management and compliance with project requirements, including conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure quality and adherence to contractual obligations, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Address non-compliance issues promptly and effectively, and evaluate project planning and scheduling processes to recommend improvements and incorporate best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and management, involving EPC contractors, controls with heavy budgeting, cost forecasting, change management, cost estimating, scheduling and risk management experience.
- 15+ years of project experience in major capital projects in the oil and gas industry, LNG project experience a plus.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, PRISM, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams and contractors in a multicultural environment is an asset.
- Communication/interpersonal skills – interacting with front-line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.
- Accepts responsibility and demonstrates a commitment to the delivery of tasks and targets.
- Ability to be Innovative and vision-oriented with demonstrated ability to undertake strategic planning and implementation.

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
