Job Description

Job Title: Administrative Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at the Waterloo Region District School Board. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the school administration, ensuring the smooth operation of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the school administration, including answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining records.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Aspen student information system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Provide support to students and staff as required, including answering questions and providing information.
  • Perform other duties as required, including attending meetings, taking minutes, and preparing reports.

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma required.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in a Windows computer environment.
  • Experience with K212 and G-Suite required.
  • Experience using the Aspen Student Information System and applying this knowledge to record keeping and maintaining data integrity required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and the public.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Knowledge and ability to assist managing School Budget.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work 29 hours per week, 10 months per year, effective as soon as possible. Hours of work will be determined by the school administration.
