Job Title: Painter - Surface Preparation Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Painter - Surface Preparation Specialist to join our team at Apple Constructions and Renovations. As a key member of our painting team, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted
  • Repair cracks and holes
  • Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
  • Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
  • Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
  • Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Estimate costs and materials

Requirements:

  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English as the primary language of work
  • 35 hours per week

Work Environment: Our team works in various locations, including outdoors, underground, at heights, and in confined spaces. We are willing to travel and work in different environments.

Equipment and Machinery Experience: You will be working with brush painting, roller painting, drywall taping/patching, sandblasters, aggregate painting, novelty and decorative effects, paint spraying, and wallpaper and vinyl.

Security and Safety: A criminal record check is required for this position.

Transportation/Travel Information: We are willing to travel and work in different locations.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This position requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, ability to distinguish between colours, bending, crouching, kneeling, and physically demanding work.

Weight Handling: You will be lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly.
