Compliance and Implementation Director

The Shíshálh Nation is seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Implementation Manager to lead the Rights and Title Department. This is a key role that requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Rights and Title team, providing guidance and support to staff members.
- Implement agreements with industry and government, working closely with the Divisional Manager and Rights and Title staff.
- Participate in Implementation and Shared Decision-Making Boards as requested by the Divisional Manager.
- Manage the engagement process and associated archaeology work, ensuring compliance with the Shíshálh Nation Lands and Resources decision-making policy.
- Develop information to support community engagement activities, working closely with the Divisional Manager.
- Assist the Divisional Manager in implementing annual long-term strategic directions and goals related to stewardship.
- Ensure documentation of decisions, including strategic direction, and that goals and objectives are achieved.
- Develop budgets with the Divisional Manager, manage spending within budget, and prepare budget reports as requested.
- Plan work activities and manage related budgets, reviewing and approving expenses.
- Provide recommendations and ensure the Divisional Manager is briefed on all relevant matters.
- Prepare reports, recommendations, plans, procedures, and background documentation as required on stewardship matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Aboriginal Studies, History, or a related field, or equivalent years of directly related experience.
- Minimum of five years' experience in stewardship, Rights and Title, or a related area.
- Minimum of three years of management experience, with demonstrated success in leading high-performance teams.
- Administrative capability and relevant work experience, including experience managing multiple projects or a department.
- Knowledge and historical background of the Shíshálh Nation is considered a major asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports.
- Excellent organizational ability and extensive knowledge of facilitation of meetings.
- Superior time management skills, ability to assess the dynamics of the community.
- Ability to be flexible and considerate of differing views of elected officials, community members, other government officials, and legal professionals.
- A valid driver's license and a clean Criminal Record Check.

- Sitting for extended periods at a computer workstation.
- Working hours 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- May be required to work outside normal work hours.
