About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at GPC Investments Limited, operating as Comfort Inn Halifax. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit financial reports, including trial balances, to management and stakeholders.
  • Payroll and Accounts Payable: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, and manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing recommendations to management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, and team player.
Work Environment

Our office is located in a convenient location, with free parking available. We offer a permanent work arrangement, with 35 to 40 hours per week. The work language is English.
