About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Mossy Branches Inc. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, promoting their overall growth and well-being.
  • Engagement and Activities: Engage children in various activities, including storytelling, singing, and crafting, to foster their creativity and curiosity.
  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to children in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and using the toilet.
  • Observations and Reporting: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Behavioral Guidelines: Establish and maintain guidelines for behavior, promoting a positive and respectful environment for all children.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and challenges faced by children, ensuring a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment that protects the well-being of children, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Provide physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, and auditory accessibility accommodations to ensure equal access for all.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in programs that support the settlement and integration of newcomers and refugees, including assistance with immediate needs and social and labor market integration.
  • Support for Youth: Engage in initiatives that support youth employment, offering on-the-job training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in programs that support Veterans, offering mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities, as well as assistance with transition needs.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, offering mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities, as well as cultural competency training.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, offering phased retirement options, mentorship, and coaching opportunities.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in programs that support members of visible minorities, offering mentorship programs, diversity training, and hiring policies that discourage discrimination.
