Quality Systems Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Systems Manager to lead and manage the administration of documents and audits required to qualify ingredients and suppliers. This role will provide administrative support and leadership to Quality, Commercialization, and Operation initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, execute, and implement processes for ingredient and supplier qualification, and Tracegains management to eliminate compliance gaps.
- Partner with Commercialization team to support consistent approach throughout the new product commercialization process, ensuring timely and effective qualification of ingredients and suppliers.
- Manage food safety and FSMA compliance through a central repository database, Tracegains, and actively maintain its general maintenance to achieve minimum completion rates.
- Conduct weekly audits on Tracegains system to ensure accuracy, focusing on ingredient and supplier data used by all non-branded business units.
- Keep the document library up to date, contacting suppliers to obtain the most current documents to ensure compliance with current food laws and regulations.
- Partner with Purchasing, Regulatory, and R&D on raw material change control, following department procedures and properly documenting each change control.
- Monitor supplier qualification profiles, including third-party food safety audit results, certificates, HACCP, LOG, insurance, and other relevant documents, for compliance and report any discrepancies to company policy.
- Create and maintain Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCARs) on third-party portals, following up on responses and credits in a timely manner.
- Support as needed, working with Ops and Quality on ingredient shelf-life evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in a plant FSQ setting and supplier documentation.
- Ability to learn regulatory compliance and process requirements, including FSMA, FSIS, USDA, FDA, CFIA, PCQI, SQF, and HACCP.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
