Transporter - Portering Services

At North York General Hospital, we are committed to excellence in patient care. As a Transporter in our Portering Services Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth transportation of patients, materials, and supplies throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients to various departments and locations within the hospital
  • Assist patients and nursing staff with various services, including transporting blood and specimens to the lab
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to designated areas
  • Clean and maintain equipment as required
  • Respond to calls and requests from hospital staff and patients
  • Assist in team efforts to complete tasks in an unsupervised environment

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in continuous heavy lifting and processing of documentation through use of computers
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
