Transporter - Portering Services

At North York General Hospital, we are committed to excellence in patient care. As a Transporter in our Portering Services Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients, blood, and specimens to the lab
  • Assist patients and nursing staff with various services
  • Deliver supplies and clean equipment as required
  • Respond to calls and requests through the Hospital Resource Centre
  • Assist in team efforts to complete tasks in an unsupervised environment
  • Deliver clean linen and refill scrub-ex machines
  • Collect soiled linen

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in continuous heavy lifting, processing documentation through computers, and dealing with client concerns by phone and in person
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset

This is a part-time permanent position with 4 and 8 hour shifts, including weekends. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
