Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transporter to join our Portering Services team at North York General Hospital. As a Transporter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth transportation of patients, materials, and supplies throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients, blood, and specimens to the lab
  • Assist patients and nursing staff with various services
  • Deliver supplies and clean equipment as required
  • Receive and respond to calls through the Hospital's communication system
  • Move equipment to storage for repair and maintenance
  • Assist in team efforts to complete tasks in an unsupervised environment
  • Deliver clean linen and refill scrub-ex machines
  • Collect soiled linen and maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in continuous heavy lifting, processing documentation through computer use, and dealing with client concerns by phone and in person
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
