Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transporter to join our Portering Services team at North York General Hospital. As a Transporter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital by transporting patients, materials, and supplies throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients, blood, and specimens to the lab in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assist patients and nursing staff with various services, including delivering supplies and cleaning equipment
  • Deliver clean linen and refill scrub-ex machines
  • Collect soiled linen and assist in team efforts to complete tasks in an unsupervised environment
  • Respond to codes and answer requests in a professional and timely manner

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in continuous heavy lifting, processing of documentation through use of computers, and dealing with client concerns by phone and in person
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset
