About the Role

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated EXCEL Group Leaders to join our team of educators in providing enriching Before and After School Programs at various locations throughout Halifax Regional Municipality.

As an EXCEL Group Leader, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging environment for elementary students. You will lead activities, facilitate games, and provide support to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational activities and games
  • Supervise and guide students during program hours
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all participants
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and school administrators
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working with elementary school students
  • Knowledge of recreational programming and activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A High School Completion Certificate or equivalent

  • Possession of a valid First Aid/CPR Certification
