Job Summary:

The Mon Sheong Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment and hiring functions, supporting health and safety programs, maintaining HR databases and files, and providing administrative assistance to all members of the team.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Hiring: Coordinate the full cycle recruitment process, including preparing job postings, advertising, screening, phone interviews, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and presenting job offers.
  2. Accident/Injury Reporting: Ensure timely completion of all accident/injury reporting to WSIB and support return-to-work procedures.
  3. Health and Safety: Participate in JHSC meetings and attend workplace inspections as required.
  4. HR Administration: Maintain and ensure all HR files and records are up-to-date, in accordance with relevant legislation and the Foundation's policies and procedures.
  5. Payroll Support: Work closely with Payroll on new hire administrations, terminations, and providing payroll records/changes in accordance with bi-weekly pay cycles.
  6. HRIS and Training: Maintain and update HRIS and training systems.
  7. HR Projects: Assist and support HR projects/initiatives as required.
  8. Employee Recognition: Promote employee recognition and retention by assisting with annual staff events and recognition programs.

Requirements:

  1. Education: University degree or college diploma or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.
  2. Experience: 1-3 years of work experience in Human Resources.
  3. Knowledge: Good understanding of employment legislation and regulations (ESA, OHSA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, etc.).
  4. Skills: Proficient computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with HRIS an asset.
  5. Personal Qualities: Strong attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to deal with HR issues with a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese an asset.
