About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawn Maintenance Team Lead to join our team at Oakridge Landscape Contractors. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our landscape maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily management of maintenance projects, including overseeing crew operations and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, including trucks and trailers, to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Conduct morning circle checks to ensure crew members are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Lead daily safety discussions with crew members to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Review job site plans and ensure quality workmanship is maintained throughout the project.
  • Train and supervise crew members on proper mowing, trimming, edging, and weed removal techniques.
  • Manage daily labor force, equipment usage, and materials to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with forepersons, superintendents, owners, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Hand in the landscape maintenance industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid G driver's license and clean driver abstract.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer.
  • Pesticide license an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and equipment operation.
  • Ability to manage snow removal projects and work varied hours.
