Job Overview

The Environmental Conservation Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing internal programs within schools, businesses, and industry to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment. This includes establishing partnerships and collaborations to advance our sustainability goals. The Specialist will also work closely with our team to identify and address environmental concerns, develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental impacts, and monitor progress towards our sustainability targets.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of waste management principles, environmental conservation practices, and community engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field, such as environmental science, sustainability, or a related field, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement internal programs to promote responsible attitudes towards the environment
  • Establish partnerships and collaborations to advance sustainability goals
  • Identify and address environmental concerns, develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental impacts
  • Monitor progress towards sustainability targets
  • Work closely with the team to develop and implement sustainability initiatives

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

Location: Acadia First Nation

Language: English

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
