Rolling Mill Technician

We are seeking a skilled Rolling Mill Setup Technician to join our team for the Afternoon shift (2:30pm- 10:30pm). As a key member of our Extrusion department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day setup of rolling mills, participating in Continuous Improvement activities, and ensuring the highest possible Customer satisfaction rating.
Your Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain rolling mills in order.
- Provide support to Extrusion Operators in troubleshooting during the operation of the line.
- Polish roll sets after removing them from the mills and put them back on their racks in order.
- Report roll and die problems or abnormalities of machinery to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
- Use the shadow-graph, cut section, and check Mylar.
- Minimum 3 years related experience in an industrial field.
- Secondary school Diploma, or equivalent, preferred.
- Knowledge of Extrusion process/profiles and ability to methodically problem solve mechanical/process issues/demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Able to lift 50lbs to the waist and 40lbs overhead.
- Certified forklift operator, an asset.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset.
