Rolling Mill Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Rolling Mill Setup Technician to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our Extrusion department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day setup and maintenance of rolling mills, ensuring the highest possible customer satisfaction ratings.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain rolling mills in order to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide support to Extrusion Operators in troubleshooting during the operation of the line.
- Polish roll sets after removing them from the mills and put them back on their racks in order.
- Report roll and die problems or abnormalities of machinery to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
- Use the shadow-graph, cut section, and check Mylar to ensure accurate results.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in an industrial field.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of the Extrusion process/profiles and ability to methodically problem-solve mechanical/process issues/demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Able to lift 50lbs to the waist and 40lbs overhead.
