Job Title: Greenhouse Horticulturist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Horticulturist to join our team at Woodmore Nurseries Inc. As a key member of our horticultural team, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of our plants, ensuring they receive the best possible care and attention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the greenhouse environment, including the removal of debris and the application of fertilizers and pest control measures.
  • Monitor and control the temperature, humidity, and light levels within the greenhouse to create an optimal growing environment.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, ensuring they receive the right amount of moisture and nutrients.
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, and apply fertilizers to promote healthy growth.
  • Perform other tasks as required to maintain the health and productivity of our plants.

Requirements:

  • Experience in horticulture or a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

The greenhouse environment can be physically demanding and requires a high level of physical fitness. You will be working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, and you must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
